The world over, people are fascinated by the romance of winemaking but few do anything about it. Fortunately for the wine lovers among us, Wynns Coonawarra Estate winemaker Sarah Pidgeon took the bold step.
After leaving high school Sarah headed straight to Adelaide's renowned Roseworthy Agricultural College where she not only became skilled in the art of winemaking but also learned about its rigours and personal rewards.
After graduating in 1994, Sarah spent time in Australia and California cultivating her own personal winemaking philosophy which today guides every thing she does.
In 1998 Sarah realised her goal of a return to the Coonawarra to work at Wynns Coonawarra Estate winery. Here she feels privileged to be able to continue the traditions of excellence and innovation that are the hallmarks of the wines, working with fruit from some of Australia's top vineyards cultivated in the famed terra rossa soil.
